The Future of Work? Exploring the Transformative Potential of AI and ML
Overview
The rise of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) tools in recent years has crashed into so many industries like a tech tidal wave. Two industries that are experiencing significant transformation are content creation and coding.
AI and ML technologies have the potential to revolutionize the way professionals work in these fields, enabling them to work smarter, not harder – by adding a layer of automation to a variety of marketing activities. Josh Arrington, Partner & Chief Marketing Technology Officer, Kapturall, gives his take on what’s coming next.
The impact of AI and ML technologies in content creation and coding can be seen in the work of platforms such as ChatGPT and MidJourney. ChatGPT, for example, is a frontend for OpenAPI’s GPT3. GPT3 has an API that people can leverage to automate prompts and responses and use them in a variety of ways – such as creating written content, or in the case of Midjourney, art. The term AI gets bandied around a lot but really ML and Natural Language Processing (NLP) are technically more accurate – so we’ll use those from here on out. For content creators, the use of ML tools is being touted as the next big leap in productivity. AI and ML models can generate ideas and suggestions that allow professionals to speed up or even entirely skip the classic steps of ideation and inspiration. These platforms also provide a fresh perspective that may not have been considered previously, which leads you down a big rabbit hole in terms of discussions around original ideas and the influence of our environments. Are these tools just doing what we do? ChatGPT has seen skyrocketing popularity in the past few months with it reaching over 100 million users in just two months. The platform’s natural language processing capabilities enable it to understand the context of a conversation and generate responses that are tailored to the user’s needs. While speeding up any process is usually considered a benefit, it can also help people and businesses achieve more accurate and consistent results. These tools can perform tasks without getting tired or making mistakes, unlike their human counterparts, and this can lead to overall quality improvements. ML can provide the scaffolding for content creation, or given a clear outline and user details can personalize content at a granular level. It requires very clear prompts, but hyper-personalization – we’ll cover that another day – is very possible in the right hands. While the benefits of these tools are clear, it’s important to note that they are not a substitute for human expertise and creativity. While they can automate repetitive tasks, professionals must still add their voice, style, and flair to create high-quality content that engages and informs their audience. Similarly, coders must still understand the logic, syntax, and architecture of the code to create efficient and secure programs, not to mention the motivations of the clients they are building programs for. By embracing technology, professionals can streamline their workflows, improve the quality of their work, and focus on tasks that require their unique talents – giving them more satisfaction in their jobs as well as helping the business they work for. For these reasons, it’s important for creatives and coders alike to learn how to work with ML technologies and ensure that they complement their expertise and creativity and increase their potential. Ultimately, no one should view ML models as a threat to their jobs or their value, but rather as an opportunity to enhance their skills, grow their toolbox, and focus on tasks centered around creativity and understanding – those that require their judgment, empathy, and intuition – the human touch. Imagine if it was more than just content you could automate and ML could take care of your segmentation and targeting… Contact us today to learn more about how Kapturall can help you leverage ML technologies to enhance your business.A Boost Any Business Would Jump At
